Random offices, wiener-person, physics, farts!
It’s about time to start working on a version of this that I can share - the current state is very playable - there are just pretty minor physics bugs here and there. And there is no objective other than to go through the hole in the floor… No highscores, no missions, and there isn’t even any menu, and that was my initial idea for this, too: you start, and operate, the game using console commands. The actual gameplay uses numeric keys 1 to 8 for “activating” poses, or combining them. Keys 9 and 0 act as grab left and grab right. Space is for farting/flying.

The camera movement feels fine, the offices are being generated almost just as I’d want them to, the game feel is very much there (if you’re into this sort of physics-based games), and the aesthetics work. If I were to release this as an “experience” rather than a game with an objective, or any proper retention mechanics, the only thing I’d still need is a “between offices/play times” state. I have a simple solution in mind for this, that would also work as a tutorial scene of sorts, but it’s going to take a while just to get reacquainted with the project now as it’s been a while since I’ve worked on this.
I’ve got this playtested only a little, and some got the hang of it really quick (you only need to randomly switch between some poses and fart a lot, and you’ll eventually complete most offices), but there were also players who would have needed a lot more hand-holding to understand how the controls work. If this was to be a commercial game, a product to sell, I’d totally work on tutorials and maybe have it so that the game starts with just a few poses unlocked, in a preset tutorial office, but as much as I do like nice products, with this one, I’m quite sure I’ll be aiming for something a bit different. Most of the game’s fun factor comes from witnessing the chaos you’ll be making, and that’s something I’m sure all players will be able to achieve anyway :—)
I’m also leaning more and more towards making way smaller games, or projects that I’ll be sharing playable versions early on - this project has been waiting to get released for way longer than I had planned, sorry about that!
