Spent so much time adjusting the color palette of the game, mostly to make the background look the way I want while still keeping the visuals clear enough. I'm also still trying to decide on the aspect ratio of the game, a 4:3 ratio looks and feels retro, and the game area feels more like an arena now, as the action is more focused in the center rather than on the sides of the screen.
Keeping this 4:3 ratio will also free up space for GUI elements on the sides. So much, that I'm not 100% sure what I should do with it all. One thing that came to mind is a "killfeed", even though, without respawns, there isn't much happening per round... I'm still keeping it for now as it feels fun.
I also added physics-based vines and electrical cords :--) I personally love these kinds of details and will be adding more elements like these.
Aaand I'm also giving BlueSky a try. I'm not super good at social media, and while I do enjoy the Finnish Mastodon community, with gamedev things, I think I might enjoy a broader "audience" more. I'm not sure if BlueSky offers me that, or how long I'll stay there myself, but for now, you can follow me there too. I'm mostly just spamming short gameplay GIFs, as it's something that I feel helps me see where I'm at with whatever project I'm working on.
