Last updated 11th January 2025: new devlog entry
I'm Otto Ojala, a Finnish hobbyist game developer. I love playing and making video games and working on all sorts of creative projects. I've always been into local multiplayer games - playing them together with family and friends was a big part of my childhood, and today, I still regularly meet up with friends to spend time playing and trying out new games.
I've been working on my own games since Adobe Flash was still a thing, and in 2013-2014 I released quite a few mobile/web games made with Unity3D, most notably a silly one-button soccer game, Soccer Physics, and a wacky mexican wrestling game, Wrestle Jump. Now, after almost a ten-year brake from making games, and after quitting as a professional game developer, I've once again been enjoying making games, this time using an open-source game engine, Godot Engine.
I've been trying to find the kind of games I enjoy making the most - it used to be one-button local multiplayer mobile games, and while I still do enjoy the genre, I find myself being more interested in making games for desktop computers, or perhaps consoles even. I also very much like the idea of publishing games outside the big app stores, so you can install the games however you'd like to (and I don't have to worry about any yearly/per game license costs). So I'll most likely release my future games on Itch.io, as freeware (no cost, no ads, no tracking, no BS), and target Windows and Linux. I also like the idea of making games especially for the Steam Deck, since I really like mine, and you can install games on the Deck even outside Steam store, pretty easily.
You can check out the Support me page for ways to support me in making new, freeware games for everyone to play.
